Our Mission
At Awbury Community Garden, we celebrate the joy of gardening by welcoming individuals of all skill levels. Our vibrant community, enriched by 51 ground-level plots and 20 raised beds, cultivates a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs, all grown without harmful chemicals. Located in the beautiful Awbury Arboretum, we provide not just a garden, but a shared space for learning, connection, and community engagement.
Community garden clean-up update
We turned out to garden together on Saturday, April 11th. A larger group of us tended the garden as a whole, including pulling an enormous plastic piece from a common path that had been laid to create a green path. The area is ready for planting seeds for a green path in the fall, after thorough weeding and raking out the common bed.
Other tasks included painting the gazebo’s benches and table. A dead hydrangea was taken down, creating a new space. Leaves got chopped for compost along with other tasks.
Homemade cookies, oranges, and water were available and shared.
The fellowship of being together on a glorious spring day in our wonderful space was felt by all of us.
It was a beautiful day to be a member of Awbury Community Garden.

Drop us a message or visit us at the arboretum to learn more about our community gardening efforts.

Thank you for your interest. Plots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with seniors given first priority for raised beds. If you are on the waitlist and still interested, we’ll contact you next season to let you know whether a plot is available.
